Planetary Probes Are Getting Screwed, Right?
The orbiting Venus mission that's selected to in the last discovery rounds, right? These are competitively selected quote unquote small missions, which these days mean of roughly a billion dollars. The follow on to Magellan, the new upgraded radar mapping orbiting spacecraft went down to a laughably low 1.5 million a year. It's not canceled, but is functionally a canceled mission. They've laid off all the engineers, no more design, no more buying parts, no more getting ready.
