The more of a sacrifice you make for a community the more likely you are to be a strong Member of that group. There's all sorts of ways that this comes about like if you're making the sacrifice of time to volunteer and be a part of your church community. It tends to build a very strong tie to that Group but it also elevates your status within that group.
