The Origins of Homunculus Magic
The term homunculus didn't come into existence until the 16th century with Paracelsus. Simon Magus boasted about a homunculus that he had created, which was more difficult than creating him of earth. The alchemical reasoning behind it is to give its creator-like powers but there's a catch to that because in order to extract the power, you need to sacrifice the little homunculus.
