War is rarely a gentlemanly act based on a firm set of rules that all goes to waste as soon as you're in battle. None of these battles were easy battles where they zag, and the numbers have often been exaggerated. But by no means would I ever say that the British were angels during this conflict. They really were not. And I'm not going to sit here and apologize for their conduct because it is inexcusable."
