What's Happening to the Early Christians?

Peter was commissioned by Jesus to become a leader in the early church. He knew about churches that he knows, presumably he went there or helped start them. Early Christians were viewed with suspicion because they didn't acknowledge Romans Caesar as divine. Peter writes this letter to a whole group of churches that are undergoing intense suffering and hardship.
