SDS in the New Left

Between 55 and 1970 the number of students at university in the United States would triple. The student population had exploded around the world since the 1950s. These kids wanted some action and they began to toss around the idea of a new left. This necessarily meant a generational conflict with their left-wing elders but it was a conflict whose time had come.
