Is There a Political Context for This?

A lot of cortes's work was, at least on some level, political. Do you think there's a political context for this story, or purely humanist? I don't know enough about the history of this story to kind of know the ways that this might be interacting with the kind of immediate political context. Think that there's al i don't know about cortasa's intentions around the kind of gender politics of the story but i i was reading it in a kind of immediate relation to jackie rose's writing about the figure of the mother and the culture.
