Joseph Smith had a Jupiter talisman which he kept as some kind of perhaps lucky slash magical piece. That's the tradition attached to the object. A lot of objects that come from the past don't come with a history, a pedigree or anything,. But there's a family tradition and I think if you want to doubt it, I mean they came with a bunch of other things owned by Hyran Smith.
