The Biggest Problem for Inequality
In 1820, the average real income of the wealthiest country in the world was five times the poorest. By 2017, the richest country was 70 times richer than the poorer. That reflects the great take-off of the 19th century - capitalism combined with imperialism. Non-development is the biggest problem for inequality and it will not close on its own.
