The Three Ways of Knowing
In Rule 2, if we come across something which our intellect is unable to intuit sufficiently well, we must stop at that point and refrain from the superfluous task of examining the remaining items. Dylan: He has sort of three ways of knowing, knowing by intellect, knowing by imagination, knowing by a sense perception. This confused me tremendously. Are you sure he's saying there's knowledge by imagination and sense perception? I didn't get any clarity on that until a few rules later. So understanding is the only thing that can know. It can be helped or hindered by imagination, sense, or memory but those are not other modalities of knowing.
