How Do You Manage Bad Splits?

For people that don't do this a lot, you'd be surprised how many times the vessel vasoconstricts on its own. It spasms and it's bleeding really profusely. Then in about three or five minutes, all of a sudden it's almost stopped. And there's nothing maybe you did yet, but that vasospasm really will help you then with those other adjuncts. I'm always surprised still at how that happens quite well. From an intraoperative standpoint, it's better just to finish the split, down fracture, see what you're doing and all that stuff you just described is what we'll usually do before you have to go to IR.
