The Art of Orpheus

Orpheus is positioned by the later Platonists as the Theologos par excellence. A feat of metrical and verbal cunning, which is so far beyond the reach of modern literate populations. Orphic Rhapsody's were, of course, compositions. They weren't orally improvised traditional epics, but they were modeled on them.
