Baudelaire - The Flowers of Evil

Charles Baudelaire is one of the most important and certainly most troubling Catholic writers in history. He was born into an aristocratic house as he taught music, he taught painting. The French were determined to eradicate all aspects of Catholicism from the new Republic. His father had been essentially an aristocratic chaplain before the revolution. A Freudian drama emerged where he hated his father and fought with him for his mother.
