The Logic of the Brookhaven Results
This is a 4.2 standard deviation or 4.2 sigma deviation from the standard model prediction. The chance probability of getting something like that extremely off is one in roughly 40,000. Fermilabs provided an independent measurement of the same thing and got about the same answer.
