The Emergence of Content Moderation
It feels like the work of content moderation or trust and safety as it's often called in the industry is kind of coming into its own as a field. I think that the maturation of the space will hopefully lead more people to think about content moderation not just focused on removing the worst of the worst, but also something that's involved in the design of systems. How do we actually prevent systems from incentivizing negative behavior? And how can we design an ecosystem where content moderation is the thing we do as a last resort? Not the first thing that we reach for when something is not going right.
