The data protection law is supposed to do a basic kind of an entitlement enforcement in this regard. The idea is that there should be some link between what the government is taking your data using it for and to what kind of purpose it is eventually used for. This kind of blanket exemption to me raises two concerns. Number one is constitutional. Number two, this is a rule of law issue. At the end of the day, if you have a right against the government, the government should not be able to say we will decide at what point you will have this right or not has this right.
