There's a real sense in which plenty of people simply aren't doing a lot of critical thinking, Coleman says. The same crowd that was very eager to embrace mandatory masking was initially completely convinced that masks didn't matter because the authorities kind of gave them that guidance. "I think it'll be really hard until we actually cultivate some of that discipline, skepticism and meaningful curiosity about what works," he adds.
