The Golden Age of Piracy
Robert Blythe is Senior Curator of World in Maritime History at the Royal Museum Greenwich. He says piracy dates back to 'the second day that man was afloat on the ocean when they decided that there was a criminal potential there' The Caribbean Pirates are operating from a relatively well armed, fast sailing ship and will just prey on anything that comes into sight That could be anything from a mere fishing boat through to an ideally some ship that they think is carrying treasure.
