The Importance of the State in Structuring the Market

Hayek says the state has an important role in structuring the market. But Francis Fukuyama argues that when you try to shrink the state and expand the market, you can often just bloat the state. In a way, Hayek's project reduces circularity in more marketization followed by state stepping into even bigger role than it did before.
