There are far too many parallels working in an inverted fashion to not, it's just crazy. And this is what John has literally stated his gospel is about. Like he's told us it is so that we might believe. I think we just hear that and project it into our evangelical theology without even realizing that what John's really doing is bearing so much treasure.
