The Demonization of Whitfield
In 1740, Benjamin Franklin publishes to the inhabitants of Maryland, Virginia, North and South Carolina. And Whitfield is traveling through these places so he publishes this book that's basically an open letter to them. He says, as I lately passed through your province, I was sensibly touched with a fellow feeling of the miseries of the poor need. But let's move on. Let's keep looking into Whitfield because we haven't gotten to the main thing that people demonize him for.
