Elliot: I don't really buy them as a particularly useful tool to kind of hold teachers account to in terms of what they've been attempting to teach the children. What we can also kind of do is kind of make sure that they are process focused and not product focused, he says. Elliot: It should be pretty clear from the outcome what's actually happening in that lesson. If your goal is to write a letter well you know you're going to have written a letter in the book so it should bepretty clear that you've written a letter but obviously that is still far too much practice the children to write down.
