I don't think that this is the first, I can't think of another, maybe there's a glaring one. He goes up to this conference in Virginia's conference on Southern writers and he basically at the reception just publicly vomits because he's drinking so hard all day. This is the thing you kind of learned about Faulkner as you go through. It was the go-to for everything, basically. And his volumes were apparently pretty astounding to most people, what he could put back in a day.
