I've Used Nitrous in the Operating Room, but How Does It Work?

One study showed that women who came in wanting a natural birth were more likely to use nitrous. Do you think there may be a cultural aspect of this? And so maybe if they succeed in avoiding the epidural and only use nitrous, there's some sort of validation there. So even though overall it's not super great as a sole analgesic, women were much more satisfied with the overall experience with it.
