The Battle of the Karelian Ismos

Finnish forces were unprepared for the Soviet invasion of northern Finland. The 139th Soviet Division was advancing along the Tolva Vayarvi road, which would take them to an important rail line. Just sheer numbers would quickly force the Finnish defenders to begin their retreat,. But even these were not enough to prevent further Soviet advances. This episode will focus on the area around Lake Suyarvi and how Finns tried to deal with it.
