The Importance of Josephus in the Reformation
The church hasn't quit associating ethically dubious imperial leaders with Jesus. It's fascinating to me that the scriptures both in the Hebrew scriptures and in the New Testament kind of canonize this debate around God and power. In some way it is a mirror of the human predicament and in really deep ways.
