How do folks typical start when they're thinking about an optimization problem? I think it starts with a initial formulation of what it is that's trying to be addressed. If we were willing to have some brilliant artisan come in and design this mug, then i need to get ten million of these manufactured at any given time. The same thing is true, realistically, of an m l algorithm as well. And so both of these elements are a think, key to progressing the problem forward.
