Philip Henslow was a businessman and an entrepreneur in the late 1500s. In 1587 he decided to try his hand at a new industry, the burgeoning theater scene around London. He purchased a piece of property on the south bank of the Thames, across the river from the main part of the city of London. The next chapter we'll explore his first dramatic version of the Faust legend presented in English.
