The exponet telegram has bought by a local owner and continues on. It's under tremendous economic pressure, and that limits everything it can do. Most Americans think local newspapers would probably doing ok, cause the don't pay much attention to it. But actually, it's just been gutted. And they exist because that's not the norm in the country.
