The Supreme Court's End to Affirmative Action
The Supreme Court ended the practice of affirmative action and college admissions ruling that race cannot be considered as a factor. The decision which is seen as an achievement of a longstanding conservative legal goal overturned previous cases dating back nearly a half a century. It impacted Harvard and the University of North Carolina, which were at the center of the case. As a result, all such institutions, particularly elite ones, need to modify their admissions practices.
