Movie Review: U-571

There really was a German submarine named U-571. The true story is not nearly as dramatic as the movie. It was west of Ireland on January 28, 1944, when an Australian boat patrol bomber spotted it and dropped depth charges. They didn't survive though, likely dying from hypothermia in the cold waters. Oh, and the German destroyer that we see being destroyed in the movie also never even sailed.
