The Disadvantages of Comparing the US to Other Countries

I don't know research specifically that compares the US to other countries it tends I could be missing some huge swath of research that's out there but this is just not on my radar. It becomes very difficult to compare across countries because the way that research is conducted in each country can vary considerably so one of the metrics that they're relying on in this paper is something called the feeling thermometer which is based on a survey that's been going on from the American national election studies in the United States since the 50s where we've gone around and asked series of systematic relatively continuous and comparable questions over time.
