When I picture a young kid or a student who wants to grow up to be a doctor, I often imagine them wanting to grow up as a family doctor. So why don't more medical students want to become family doctors and how do we change that? In medicine, when you go on your journey to decide the type of medicine that you eventually want to practice, there are a lot of ways that you come about making this decision. And over the course of going through training, you start to observehow people practice.
