The staff shortage has got to do with something quite different. During the pandemic, lots of people got paid lots and lots of money not to work. There's a hangover from that, particularly amongst students who were sitting on five or six grand at one time. Another thing is the importance of ine tence in the economy. A significant minority have become very, very wealthy in terms of assets.
