About three % of patients with nipple discharge will later be diagnosed with cancer, that is, if they're under forty years old. A patient that is older presents in the sixth decade of life and they have nipple discharge, you need to have a much higher suspicion. They will have up to a third, a 33% chance of having cancer associated with their nipple discharge.
