The Federalists' Plan to Keep the Constitution Alive

The Federalists tried to create a door and exit for any delegate who'd come from a portion of New Hampshire where they had been sent there explicitly. If their vote was not associated with an adjournment basically the plan was if we look like we're going to lose we's going to adjourn regroup and hold this convention later. Once you vote to adjourn no other motion can be voted on. You couldn't take up a vote again on any other motion unless the number of delegates present was the same as on the initial adjournment vote. So essentially if you're a Federalist and you want to adjourn to keep this thing alive you basically vote and then run out of the room because no other
