How to End a Death March Without Ending Your Career

If I found myself in a death march and it was so bad that I was contemplating leaving, but I still felt attachment to my teammates and to the company, I would probably see what I could do to end the death march without ending my employment. The only thing that makes a death march worse is when the marchers start quitting. People don't have happy productive careers in death marches.
