Hayek, Friedman, and Buchanan
In your book, Hayek is kind of the farthest, furthest right, laissez-faire type guy that you have a chapter on. Then he has these deranged disciples like Friedman and Buchanan,. And they say any interference by the government, any government action at all, except for like police to guard property will make us less prosperous. On the face of it, both Hayek and the deranged disciples are trying to make an efficiency argument. But the thrust of it seems to be this moral argument because they're saying they're whole rhetoric.
