A public shaming is one of the only things that is actually effective at getting corporations to change their behavior. Audible has these really sus returns policies that allow them to basically use the stuff that creators pay to make in their independent platform ACX, the self-serve platform where you can publish your own audiobooks. And they accidentally exposed the underlying accounting to one of their authors, which turns out to be a forensic accountant who just went like, well, wait a second, that doesn't look right to me. It's all very obscure and it's very hard to tell what's going on. My next novel is the first volume in a trilogy about a crime team fighting Silicon Valley
