The Method to a Cavalry Charge

Almost every mounted soldier of the napoleonic wars would be expected to take part in a charge. Cavalry troopers needed iron discipline as well as c rage and confidence. They had to be prepared to unleash all their aggression on the enemy, but also to keep that aggression in check until just the right moment. A good cavalry officer needed to know how to help his men do that.
