Building Power Is Not Enough to Have Nice Ideas
No real change can happen without building a kind of countervailing power, or a force that is able to resist the dominance of the status quo. So for me, that really comes down to a need to actually actively deepen democracy. It's not enough to have nice ideas. You have to be able to make sure that there are various, different sources of institutional power which will allow people both to express their ideas and where they deviate from thestatus quo.
