The Influence of Harry Jaffa on Leo Strauss
Harry Jaffa, a student of Leo Strauss's who spent many decades teaching at the Claremont school. He famously attacked all of his fellow students of Strauss for essentially not getting that America is kind of the culmination of Western philosophy. And so it's kind of one might say esoteric dispute between philosophers but that was how the categories of West Coast and East Coast were formed. But what's interesting is where things have gone in the last five or six or seven years because the Claremont Institute which is essentially his was created to be the furtherance of his vision has now gone hard, Maga crazy with anti Americanism.
