The Stoics define unhealthy emotions as the emotions that override reason. Anger is a good example because it's also one of the major targets of modern cognitive behavioral therapy. To deal with anger, Seneca says you disengage and then ask yourself: Why was I angry? You can actually measure physiological responses like stress hormones in your blood to see how often people do these kinds of things.
