Zohen is the process of discovering that there is no centre to consciousness. It's not a matter of going deep within and having some kind of break through. The framing you need for zokcen is there's this something already true of consciousness. And it doesn't require any pyrotechnic change in the contents of consciousness. Every state of consciousness is compatible with reaching for a glass of water without anything novel intruding. There's no bliss, there's no rapture, there'sno profound or spiritual change in state.
