The Importance of Love in the Inferno
Dante is able to love reality in the sense of knowing it. He can then let go his possessiveness so that he can continue on his journey. The angels are active presences of God throughout all realms. Their love fills and overflows, fills and overflowed in a continual transmission. This is what love can be - very different from the possessiveness of Francesco and Paolo and the Inferno.
