The History of Rock Music

The Boswell Sisters' Transatlantic Mary Go Round is the first song to use the phrase rock and roll in those words. It was written by Richard Whiteing and Sidney Claire, who wrote On the Good Ship Lollipop for Shirley Temple. The version I'm using is actually the version the Boswells sang in a film rather than the proper studio recording.
