Mathematics Is the Art of Explanation

The only reason you really know things are true in maths is because of something called proof. A theorem is a statement that has been shown to be true through proof it's a statement that we know is true because it's been explained why it must be true based on previous things that we knew and based on whatever insightful things that you did so this idea is actually incredibly important in maths. The cultural problem is the perpetuating monster about math from their teachers and teachers learn about it from their teachers, he says.
