If you smoked weed on the East Coast of the United States during the first decade of this century, there is a pretty good chance that you got it from Eric Canori in one way or another. Over the course of his decade-long run as one of the biggest distributors of cannabis in America, he moved hundreds of millions of dollars worth of product over the Canadian border and through distribution centers all over the country.

One of the wilder aspects of Canori’s story is that while all of this was happening nobody had any idea that he was involved in anything other than his pond and landscaping company. They certainly never would have guessed that during his early 20s, he buried $12 million worth of gold in the backyard of his mother’s house and at a random spot in the woods.
