The Silver Shirts

The day Hitler became Chancellor in Germany, William Dudley Pelley founded a movement that was designed to install him in power here. He said publicly that he had a vision: If Hitler could do it there, he could do it here. And they were called the silver shirts; their little uniform, which he put his followers in, looked ridiculous and also cartoonishly evil.
