Stress Proof is a compilation of you know your own story as well as all of the research that you have come across. The author studied her own reaction to stress and then finally for her most recent research when she did her PhD I was studying pupalometry so I was looking at people's pupils and measuring their pupil responses. All of these threads kind of came together and they were all playing at the back of my mind. It turned into a manual essentially for people and then someone said why don't you try and get this manual into a book? That's how it became stress proof.
